I wish they were free, but no, they are a very expensive optional extra 
Took it for its first motorway run yesterday to manchester and back. Reasonably impressed. Its not as planted as the C Class and road noise is a fair bit higher once you get above 80 (the C Class was near silent up to and above triple figures) but for a little 1.6 it was quite accomplished really. Bit dissapointed in the fuel ecomomy - it will do 45-50mpg at 70, but at my cruising speeds it dropped to 32mpg. I was expecting a bit more, but then again I suppose the little engine is workign harder at that speed.
Overall though I really like the car. Our motoring is mostly town/A road with the odd motorway trip once or twice a month, so it suits our purposes quite well, abd better than a mondea would have.
