Omg Is this serious

It was top-of-the-line a few years ago. It's still a pretty good card, judging by my X850. That's a pretty good price so if you're looking to upgrade from, say, a 9600 Pro or some'at you'll see a gain in performance. However, there are much better cards available if you want to spend more.

Depends what you want to do with it really. It wont play the latest games on max, probably around the medium level. I have an 18 month old X800 XL 512 (cost me a hell of a lot more than that) and it runs HL2 very well. Oh and the stock cooler got way too loud...

PK!

I just upgrade from a x800xl and to be honest for the price it not a bad card to be honest if you looking at this card you not going to really want/expect to run it to high of resolution.

I can max HL2 with my Radeon 9600np at 470 core on passive cooling, I use 8xAA/AF with HDR on too but it takes 16xAA/AF too, shows how good the HL2 source engine is, games like TDU cant run at lowest setting with like 600x400 res.

Going by that guide, only the GTO2 can be unlocked, and its gotta be sapphire versh too (I seem the remeber that a few other brands unlocked as well. Either way they say the regular and ultimate GTO cannot be unlocked. The connect3d GTO could unlocked BUT that was changed on 1/12/05. This info is on the first page of that article.

Enjoy the slide show... :D

Slide show? Umm no lol, it was over 25fps as it was total smooth and no freezing at 8xAA/AF, I remember when I first got HL2 and I had this 9600np, I was like wow it can play it maxed out at 1280x1024, now I use 1440x900 :-o

Then you have a very special, nay magical card at your fingertips. Lucky you.

Imagine, using 8xAA (which wasn't even supported on that card - 6xAA was the maximum), and still getting much better framerates than any of the benchmarks on professional review websites were able to get.

You sir, are special in every sense of the word.

not even all the 800 GTO2s unlocked properly, some shipped with the 6 pin pci-e connector and some didn't, the ones that didn't shipo with them would unlock but were very unstable, only bought mine because of it so couldn't RMA it, damn ocuk ;)

Have you ever noticed that HDR aint even supported by cards like the X800 series yet you can have HDR in HL2....

Yes my 9600pro is magical.

I will take some pictures infact.

**Edit** Ok yea was wrong about the AA part, it can only do 6x max, but it can do 16xAF.

All max it can do, and 26fps aint a slide show
