Eggs
Bacon
Bread
Chicken
uncooked meats

only th co op had some eggs and some turkey...noweher had any bread at all in royton centre!

I saw 3 flakes of snow today! Might have just been dust though.

Warmest place in the UK today here. I WANT TO SEE SOME SNOW!

Popped out around 8pm to pick up a few essentials, half the drive is country back lanes which have been given little to no attention from council gritters,20 mph most of the way. -14 around here last night!

Anyone else seen a masisve diffrent between countys?

Main roads in Bristol were slush and frozen. Yet I went back to my parents which are in South Glos who live in a village. Not only was the main road in gritted they didn't have any slush or ice on.

well i have just driven from manchester to stoke via wilmslow on the a34 and my x5 reckons it went down to -16.5!!!! i couldnt believe it! The sky was completly clear for about 30mins. This was in the open countryside and dropped back down to -9 when I got back.

It's an interesting read that, I read it earlier and what is good is that its just normal for them and they moan that we moan about snow. Try having a difference in temperature from upto 30C in the summer to minus whatever it is now.

Well SE England has around a -10 - +38 degrees maximum variation (so around 48 degrees).

Norway goes down to -40 at night and to around +30 during the summer, which is a 70+ degree variation... Same with huge suaves of Canada.

The UK actually has a much smaller temperature variation than other countries at the same latitude due to the gulf stream which means we have average summers but warm winters compared to most of the rest of Europe. So, what were you saying?;) (EDIT: reading it again it could be taken two ways, either i'm disagreeing or agreeing. :p)

TBH I don't think temperature extremes really matter, things like houses for example benefit from insulation both in the summer and winter and roads don't have many problems either, it's just the whingers in this country that moan when it gets a bit chilly (below ~5 degrees) and a bit warm (+~30 degrees), oh and when it rains, or snows... There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing (and attitude), unless of course you live in Antarctica during the winter, then tbh that is bad weather!

I really do think winter/all season tyres should be mandatory in the UK in winter, that coupled with people actually buying a few warm clothes would really reduce the moaning we have every year when it freezes.

-10 here now.

Nice and chilly.

NICE?! It's bloody 'orrible!

I just went to put something in the bin and my christ it's bitter. BBC says -1 for Bideford but nearest station is Chivenor, and that's -9, bloody feels like the latter.
