After 7 hours of this headache, I had gone into system user and copied over the display folder to my documents and then proceded to delete it.

Now after having that blonde moment I had realised that may have been a mistake! After the mac loading screen absolutely nothing would show up! Just a blue screen.

So . . . I have the apple bluetooth keyboard and mouse I couldnt press anything until it could get into the OS. So I thought I'd see if putting in the Tiger CD would do anything . . Big mistake nothing happened and now here I am . . .

With a Stuck CD, No OS booting up properly, Data stuck on HD, A Keyboard that won't eject the CD.

My mind is literally about to explode, could some kind soul please help?

:( :( :(

Can you boot into safe mode? (hold shift down after the chime on startup. it takes a LONG time to boot though).

Try reading this article, if that fails I'd suggest booking a slot at the Genius Bar in your local apple store via the concierge service and they'll sort it out for you. Don't forget to take along the reciept if you do.

Good luck :)

The bluetooth keyb probably isn't doing anything because the bluetooth stack isn't getting loaded.

Plug a USB keyb into the machine and press (and hold) C to boot from the CD.

That should sort it.

Didn't realise there was a genius bar in sheffield, which was only 5-10 mins walk away!

I went in it seemed they didn't have a 85W power supply :\

So I went home got the PS and went back, the guy who served me was very helpful! He got the cd out, then repaired it after an hour or so. Although it's running rediculously slow, I'v got the cd out and I can now back up my data and re-install!

The guy was very quick with his mac commands, bah guess I'll pick up slowly :(

Thanks for help! :)

Yup, the guys at the Apple Store in Meadowhall seemed very helpful types. They answered all my awkward questions - except the one they got wrong when I asked about the graphics card in the Intel Mac Mini and they told me about the one in the G4. Oops. Oh well, no matter, they still got me to part with rather too much money. :D

Everyone refuses to talk about Boot Camp. Afterall, it's akin to letting your evil twin ruin your best laid plans. Seems to just about work though.

Word of caution: use Remote Desktop with Boot Camp at your peril. If you do, the display goes away and won't come back. Think I'll stick Remote Admin on instead.

Beserker, during my wait time the poor guys had to deal with some really awkward customers. This one woman didn't understand the concept of 12 months warranty, and insisted that during the 18 months, her repair inbetween automatically gave her another 12 months

Takes all sorts. At least I did know what I was on about. Hit them with technical questions and watch them squirm. :D

Apple give you a 100 days coverage from the last repair, or until the end of your guarantee, which ever is longer.
