That looks superb. I'm getting that nostalgic feeling just watching that.. Imagine if it were to be released on Christmas eve... I was bad enough when they did that with Goldeneye: Source, let alone Black Mesa. :D

Whoa that video is just too much awesome for me to handle at 2 o'clock in the morning! Is this a console release I don't know about?

Looks ace but...what's it doing in the consoles section!?

Marky, as far as I know it's a mod for Half Life 2 on the PC-effectively playing the original HL storyline on the HL2 engine (I think).

This has been in development for years! It is as mentioned, a pc mod attempting to re-create Half Life 1 on the Source engine. Therefore there will be no console release. You'll need a retail copy or steam version of Half Life 2 (can't remember which engine they moved on to though) to play.

That looked awesome, remembered the cut screen with the rail car thing, will be downloading that as soon as it's out, look simply outstanding.

ehh, i assumed it would be on the consoles since we never saw a release on them. too bad my laptop cant handle it

Its an independent mod, not a product produced by Valve and it therefore cannot be sold for retail purposes (meaning it will never see its way to the consoles without Valves say so, which is highly unlikely). I think most of the people working on it do or did have ties to game studios though, hence its professional look.

I have been following this for a year or so and have been anticipating it's release.... that trailer looks absolutely awesome!

I hope it goes straight to steam and that you can actually buy it rather than it being free. I really beleive the team who have put it together have done such a good job that they should get some financial reward from it.

Maybe a MOD could move this thread to the PC section?

We'll let you off for thinking that could be an official product. That mod has seriously high production values and looks flippin' immense.

Forgive me for my ignorance but isn't this just HL with HL2 Source Engine? What else is different apart from the step up in graphics and (from the trailer) more dramatic?

It's just a graphics update of the game. Sounds good to me as i recently replayed HL1 and the only criticism i had was the graphics look incredibly dated.

To everyone else: This is a free mod developed by people uninvolved with valve, it will always be free and will never appear on the consoles (unless valve buy it)

Sweet... I just paid less than a quid for HL... maybe I'll hold off playing it and play the BlackMesa mod instead to see if it can rekindle my memories back in 2000...

I'm so glad I saw this... I was about to start playing though HL1 again with the gf to show her why it was regarded as one of the best games ever made.

I was aware that this was in development as I have been following the progress on it for a few years now.. I just assumed that they had stopped work on it.

Looks awesome.. Can't wait to play it!
