Yes always remember to stop and take pictures when pets and loved ones are aflame.

But only after you've started a thread asking what to do. :p

We used to have a gas fire with a glass front, it was the cats territory.. the dog (Labrador) used to start about a meter back and edge its way closer trying not to incur its wrath but knowing eventually the cat would tolerate no more and go for his nose with teeth and claw

the cat you see liked prime position inches from the glass, it would however on occasions get too close and singe the end of its nose on the glass... karma for attacking the dog maybe

classic had to be the time the fire was being serviced and was therefore sat in the middle of the room, cat comes in from the cold and runs straight to the spot where the fire should be... looks around and sees the fire has moved walks over to it and sits right in front of the glass and starts washing itself

The dog is on fire.

If anyone gets that reference, they're a geek.

In other random news...

When I was little, we had a real old wood fire. When my sister was crawling, and I was somewhere between 5 and 6, my mum left the room briefly to do something, and left the fireguard off the fire. She came back to find that my sister had tried to crawl towards the fire, and I had pulled her off the hearth by her legs. There were little finger marks in the ash around the fire where her hands had been.

I are hero.

Its sweet. Once he finds his camera, grab a lighter, apply the flame to the cats tail and snap away.

Once the flames reach your cats arse you may want to consider putting your pet out.

Edit: To clarify, I mean put it fire on its tail out, not put it outside.
