Was great yesterday, heavy summer rain all day to annoy the neds and cool temperatures. This morning is a nightmare though for the heat now it's come back with a vengeance. Looks set to continue for a couple of weeks too, though the kids should be back at school soon thankfully.
 
It always hot in our apartment as we are on the top floor of the building, so we get everyone else's heat. And as we are 10 floors up we also have stupid windows that don't open properly so there is literally NO airflow.

Thankfully though we got an air conditioning unit so its bearable now.
 
very simple method of keeping cool without spending silly amounts of money.

A fan on its own will not work that well as the hairs on your body provide an insulating area and the air is already warm.

What you need is a conductor to help the heat escape.

Get a common spray bottle with a fine mist setting and spray a mist over your body - you will instantly feel cooler as the air from the fan will help the heat to escape from your body via the water.

Works wonders - the cooler the water the better so I usually stick some crushed ice in there as well.
 
Damn, I thought it was hot last night in my flat. Just got into work, and the thermometer In my office space is reading 33c, which isn't too bad, if your outside lol.

Got a huge portable AirCon unit directed right at me at the moment, so happy this isn't really a paper office :D.

work is air conditioned too, it needs to be with all these power/imacs :p

I've also been working on a permanent solution to heat, might post some pics later.....:D

Last time i went on holiday it was touching 40C and i love it.

Im heat efficient, i operate much more freely in heat.

My dads side of the family is definitely originally from the med.. has got to be :p
 
it was 41 degrees here today. At least it's only 32 at night :eek:

The hot season isn't for another 8 months or so, when it hits the 50s. By which point i think i'll have sweated away into nothing.

Not much nice weather here in Aberdeen :( Had a bit of a thunder storm early this morning, it is still a bit humid here though. I hope we get to have some clear sunny days soon, I want more BBQ's.
 
Predicted to be 38degrees when I go home on Thursday (state-side) :D

Its good though as we have a nice big pool and an air conditioned house - almost gets too cold sometimes :cool:
