On the wagon, sorta
need some help. Ive been on a sim only deal for around 6 months but im starting to fancy a nice new shiny phone, im really liking the new WP7 handsets, the os looks pretty good and the phones seem to work well.

ive taking a fancy to either the Omnia 7 or the HD7, heres the price plans for
each

Omnia 7 on Tmobile
600 cross network minutes
500 texts (little to no use to me)
unlimited data
24 month duration
phone cost Free @ £25 per month

HD7 on O2
600 cross network Minutes
3000 texts
no data
24 month duration
phone cost free @ £30 per month

Now i really like the HD7, bigger screen and sleek look but no data means an extra £5 per month and im not sure if its worth the extra, on the other hand the tmobile in comparison seems an outstanding deal, what seperates these phones apart from the extra screen size of the HTC and is the tmobile contract as good as it first appears?

The HD7 is from phones4u and the omnia is form buymobilephones.net, is that fine to deal with? omnias due dat is the 29/11

It may have a bigger screen but the Super AMOLED screen on the Omnia 7 looks superior and the Omnia uses nand flash where as the HD7 has a micro sd card in so the omnia is snappier loading things up.

It all boils down too how much space you need as there is only 8gb omnia's atm and you end up with around 6.5gb spare but you can get a 16gb HD7.

6.5gb is low, i take it theres no expansion possibility. still leaning towards the omnia, don't have massive music collections and the videos shouldnt be too large.

seems like a cracking deal for £25 a month, paying £15 now for pretty much the same minus the phone, extra £10 for the omnia seems sweet enough, what are your thoughts on buymobilephones?

No expansion, personally for me its enough I had big storage on my last phone but just filled it with rubbish i never listened too or watched, I still have 2.4 gig free on this now, never used buymobilephones so not sure how good they are sadly.

I think having data package on one of these phones is needed and it will be 3gb with T-Mobile direct, I think its 1gb with other places but you can phone up and haggle and get it changed too the full 3gb package, I have in the past just said I thought it came with 3gb and this is the only reason I would keep the phone etc then they put me on 3gb, not that I will ever use that.

Well i ordered the omnia, had an iphone in the past but got rid pretty quick and this is the only other phone that has taken my interest in a good few years, hopefully ill be impressed, WP7 is the main attraction for me, it makes it look a real pleasure to use compared to andrioid phones/iphones

I have had Iphone 4 Galaxy S and Desire HD and for me I prefer this any day, without a doubt the nicest phone I had, its super smooth and extremely fast and works great out of the box I love mine, the app market isn't brilliant yet its got over 2k apps now but it will catch up in time as Microsoft are investing heavily into getting the apps side working.

Omnia 7 unless you NEED the storage/larger (but lower quality) screen.

Everything else about the Omnia is better.

Personally I would have gone for (well did) the T-Mobile £30 a month 18 month deal with £25 auto cashback. Exacty the same mins and texts but 6 months less contract, all for a couple of extra £ a month. :)

i was thinking about it and was tempted but this was slightly easier to swallow over the term as i have the missus blackberry contract to think about too, either way both seem outstanding value for the phone it is so im pretty pleased, haven't been this excited over a phone in a long long time.

You only get 3GB of data from TMobile when you buy an Android phone. All others are subject to the 1GB fair use.

Depends whether you want Android or Windows Phone 7.

Do you like customising and fiddling with your phone a lot? If so, Galaxy S.

Do you like everything to be simple and smooth, ala iPhone (but better)? If so, Omnia 7.

Hardware wise they are similar, the Omnia is a far nicer feeling phone, being metal and not plastic. Only downside to it is it only has 8GB of storage that can't be expanded.
