Hi all,

I have a problem with the onboard sound constantly going loud and quiet on this PC, and had EXACTLY the same problem on a previous PC with different speakers and yet cant find a solution.

I have an Asus P8Z68-V mobo with Realtech audio drivers.
I have 2.1 speakers (sub with stereo speakers connected to it) connected to the green output.

Its hard to explain but if a song starts playing with just chords it is perfectly fine until a beat kicks in. The second it does the volume reduces. Then when the beat stops half way through for lets say, a singy bit, it increases again.
In otherwords, the more there is going on in the song (drums guitar singing etc) the worse the problem. A 4 4 dance beat for example, is a nightmare as the volume goes louder between every beat!.
The problem exists for ALL audio including games.

I have tried a clean install of windows with no other codecs installed. I have tried EVERY combination of audio setting within realtechs audio manager and cant sort it.

Please please has anyone got a solution?

Tried the communication tab already, no good. Using windows 7. Last pc was xp and an entirly diiferent machine, just a strange coinsidence to have the same provlem.

seemslike loudness equalization is kicking in to stop distortion, either in windows or the player your using, try looking in the white speaker icon/bottom right of taskbar
