Is the 7950 a good clocker?
Oh.... I completely forgot that Nvidia disabled PCI-E 3 support on X79 boards....
ARGH!!!!!
Are they likely to enable it again?
PS - I know it doesn't have a huge impact, but it's a psychological thing. I didn't get near top of the line stuff to run less than it should.

Exclude Option #2. There is only one crossfire connector on the 7800's for tri-fire is not possibe.I'm stuck between:
1) Single GTX 680 4GB for £500
2) SLI GTX 670 2GB
3) Tri-fire 7850 2GB
4) Just get another 7950
To be honest, I was surprised how well the single 7950 handled BF3.

So another person ignores the rhetoric from dave_beast about how good AMD are and goes to nVidia. If you put your point across in a manner that didn't smack of brand loyalty to the death you might sound more credible![]()

Surely the best option would be to use the warranty to replace the dodgy 7950 free of charge :/
Buying two new cards because you got unlucky with one seems a bit extreme to me!
All, I can say is "EWWWW!!!"
First, can't even get +55 core, which gave a boost up to around 1200.
Though, while I could live with that, temps were hitting on 90C and yes, they do make a horrible whining noise!
Ick! Feels so cheap and nasty.
Oh, yes, 670![]()
It was between reference 7970 and the 670's. I made the wrong choice and now the ref 7970's are gone at the price I was considering them![]()
