One powerline adaptor keeps disconnecting from others

I have 5 TP-LINK powerline adaptors in my network, of the 200Mbps standard.

They all stay connected except for one in my bedroom which nearly every day will just stop working. None of the lights go out on it, data just ceases to flow via the adaptor.

What is this likely to be? None of the electrical wiring has changed in the house. This didn't used to happen at all.
 
Have you tried swapping that particular adapter with another in the house for a few days? That would let you isolate whether it's a faulty power line adapter, or the plug socket itself is causing electrical interference.
 
Anything new plugged in near the problem area? Mobile phone charger, low energy lights, Christmas lights, etc.?

Does the adapter have a socket to itself, or is it sharing?
 
Fundamental principal of Powerline is plug it direct to the socket, the fewer breaks between it and the ring main the better.
 
I've now had the adaptor on a different plug for a few days and the issue has started to occur again. No powerline light goes out normally (it does perhaps one in every ten times) and all the other lights (the ethernet and power) all flash and look fine. All are green ("good").

Is it just the TP-LINK adaptors? Should I look at something else? These are a few years old I suppose.
 
Have you actually proved whether it's the plug location at fault or the actual adapter?

If it's the adapter replace it. The warranty for TP-Link adapters is fairly generous so it may still be covered.

If it's the location then either use a different socket or find out what else is plugged in and causing a problem.

Have you tried installing the adapter management utility? If nothing else this would allow you to check that there isn't a firmware update available.

If you want a 100% reliable connection install a network cable.
 
I've tried it on another plug in the same room (on the otherside of the room) and the no throughput problem has continued.

This doesn't seem to affect any of the other adaptors in the rest of the house. I have swapped adaptors around and it is still happening.
 
So I've got a different adaptor and placed it on a different plug socket in my bedroom, on the other side of the room. The disconnecting stopped for a few days and then started again.

What I've been doing for the last few days is just constantly pinging my router. This seems to maintain the connection and stops it going off. This was recommended by somebody on the TP-LINK forums (I think).

At random times of the day, the ping to the router will go from 4ms to 100s and it will stay at a ridiculous time until I restart the powerline adaptor. The ping directly to the router from a computer connected by ethernet stays consistently low at around 2ms.
