One powerline adaptor keeps disconnecting from others

I had similar issue with TP link powerline adapters. I just kept loosing sync or something with them. It was quite frustrating tbh now i use Devolo adapters which are much better. Only on odd occasion where they go idle do they seem to have issues connecting back up, seems to be a power saving issue.

I think what needs to be done is an investigation on the actual house wiring on that particular circuit along with the wall socket. It sounds to me that is where the real issue lies.

Yep, i'd suspect that upstairs and downstairs sockets don't share the same ring main and all it takes is a dodgy spur or some cowboy doing the wiring and you're in trouble. I once went to cut out a carpet only to find that some kind soul had decided to run 1.5mm twin and earth under the carpet to a socket! The other electrical work that had been done involved electrical cables being run in the same notch of joists that had the gas pipe in them. Only spotted that one when I walked over a floorboard one morning shortly after moving in and the whole floor flashed (nail wore cable and pipe, slow leak, me walking caused a spark).

Everyone has a go at me in these threads.

:D

Wired connections should be regarded as the default connection type, I understand in rented property it can be challenging to comply with landlords wishes, but between flat cables and offering to re-instate any holes prior to moving out I always managed in my rented days, I can only thing of one private landlord who absolutely refused any additional holes at which point flat 5e worked really well along with powerline. Too often it seems people are afraid to ask or just think it'll be too much work.
