Love the idea, and it could definatly work. At the end of the day all hes doing is the same as most companys, adding value to a good. Maybe not by actually changeing it but by swapping it with someone who values it at a higher price than the person selling it.
 
Well, some of those people have clearly been ripped off. Who'd swap One Instant Party for a skidoo?
 
read about this in a magazine a few weeks ago. kept meaning to look at the site. will have to look at it when i get home. ruddy websence doesent like it at work.

If you read it you'll find the guy who did that swap was a Radio show host (had tv shows as well) and was probably doing it for the fun and entertainment value as much as anything else. He'd probably bought a new super dooper skidoo or something.
 
Interesting. I've often bartered and swapped stuff with mates - the last thing was a Zalman Flower heatsink for a House Special fried rice, which we were both happy with. :)
 
Just saw this mentioned on the news, think it's a great idea. He currently has a rent free apartmant in phoenix for a year. Not bad since he only started with a paperclip.

I just caught the update on his site yesterday. One of his current offers for that year in Phoenix is a 24-hour lapdance. :D
 
Well, this could be the final update. Since April he's managed to trade up the one-year rent for an afternoon with Alice Cooper, then traded to OMG a KISS snow globe -- what a brilliant move! The globe became an acting role in a movie, and that was traded for a house. The house gets presented to him this Wednesday.

Add this to Pet Rocks and the Million Dollar Homepage to go down as one of the best schemes of all time. :)
