Very few cases can take the 9 PCI slots of an SR-2 without modding. I think you will also need a specialist PSU.

Elysium will do the trick or any of the cases based on that platform, and a Lian-Li P80 type chassis works fine. Or if money is an issue a HAF932 should do the trick

I had a look at that thread last night but was too tired to form a coherent response
It looks from that (and a couple of other threads) that those chips should be capable of about 3.6GHz. My X5650s are at 4GHz and will complete P8101s and P8103s in about 1.6 days and P8105s in about 1.25 days - well within the 2.4 days preferred deadline. I would think those CPUs at 3.6GHz should get inside the deadlines too, although it might be a bit tight. The final deadline for P810* WUs is 4 days so you should comfortably make that.
As for cases, mine is in an Elysium and works well. I believe the Corsair 900D will take it without modification as well. There's a thread with a list on the EVGA forums http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=238992&mpage=1

The Elysium was my first choice ,future plans would include gpu's so two psu's will be required but they will probably be added after its retired from desktop duty.
As a daily driver it has to be stable rather than at the bleeding edge.

The eVGA SuperNOVA NEX1500 Classified has all the connections required for a multi GPU SR-2 setup - and, at 1500W, it'll handle pretty much anything you put in it in the future. Not cheap at ~£300 but saves faffing around with two PSUs.

Yes the bay and beer are a great combination, now I am the proud owner of an SR-2 and two L5639's soon to become my daily driver
