Im going to be a dad one week from today (provided the dates stack up)

We had a scan yesterday and all seems fine with baby weighing (currently) 6.2lbs.

Married, totally in love and settled so no issues there.

We have decided not to find out the sex of the little monster but I'm so excited.

Mrs got diagnosed with gestational diabetes a week or so ago which was a bummer but no other issues to mention. They are taking good care of her.

Im getting a bit impatient if im honest though as all this waiting is frustrating (for her more than me im sure lol). I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE hospitals but im going to just have to man up and go with it.

Hope it all goes ok - I know there are loads of dads on here who can relate

congrats dude - hope all goes well. our first is just over 3months old and while it has been a tad tiring and stressful it's still absolutely brilliant

Baby will probably have to put up with blood glucose tests for a few days then, both my daughters had it at birth, it usually sorts itself out after a couple of days as long as they're feeding well.

All the best.

Mine is due in the middle of November, also diagnosed with gestational diabetes, we were told that in July the margins had been changed and had it been prior to July (when the first test was done and cleared) that she wouldnt be classed as having it.

I'm the same as you, I hate hospitals. We were sat in there a week monday ago waiting for 5 hours to see 4 people, of which took just 20 minutes total.

6.2lbs is fine though, really late to be diagnosed with that as they do the tests to prevent mega babies.

The thing that annoys me the most is how many appointments we end up having that could be dealt with by one person instead of lots of different people, hospital is rammed at the moment likely due to the margin change and the ignorance of staff saying "You're entitled to take the time off" - Don't get paid for taking time off and with a 4 year old already its already a juggling act.

Good luck :>

Congrats! My daughter's 2 1/2 now - completely life changing experience having her but I wouldn't change her for the world. She's my partner in crime now and she's learnt plenty of geekyness from me :D

Congrats :)

As said, make the most if it while they're so little. My son is 1 in three weeks and I can't believe how quickly it's gone. Seems like only yesterday we were in your shoes waiting for him to arrive

I miss the days when he'd just lie on my chest and sleep :) now if I try and do that I get fingers in the ears, nose, eyes....:p
