Rather than OneDrive syncing with your data on your C: drive as has anyone just completely redirected their folders to OneDrive freeing up space on their local drive?

Firstly, is it possible and secondly what are the disadvantages other than slower speeds accessing data?

Thanks,

I wanted to use a network drive but unfortunately it has to be a local drive (OD can see that it's mapped network drive or linked folder ) , it's very easy to redirect in the options you just tell it where the folder is supposed to be and job done.

Doesn't OneDrive keep local copies on the PC anyway? As soon as I access a file on it, the PC downloads it first before actually opening it, and keeps a local copy unless you remove it.

Yes, seems to be the case. I am not sure what cloud storage options off that. I don't think there is a way of using Onedrive without storing data on your local drive and sync'ing the two.

I subbed to this as hoping there is a solution but doesn't seem to be the case, I want cloud storage where it's like it's as a file on the PC but isn't downloaded every time, however I don't want. Wanted a NAS but turned out too expensive.
