OnePlus 3T

For all of those features, I'd say its not that badly priced compared to their competitors as OP are much more established in the market now, so don't have to try and make a mark.

I have to be honest, I'm really quite impressed by their OP3. Build quality, speed, features, etc. Might even sway me from iPhone next time... but why does a phone need 6GB RAM? Surely half that is more than enough?

Why can't it have 6GB of RAM? It's not like there's any meaningful downsides tbh. 6GB is optimal IMO gives it headroom for the furure, rumors of other phones having 8GB is a step too far IMO.

I ordered the OnePlus 3 from o2 last night as an upgrade. 10 minutes later realised my mistake and ordered the 3T as well. Called o2 today to discuss and both phones are making their way to me.

I'm going to return the 3, or do you think I should sell it?

These cheap "flagship busting" phones sure are starting to get expensive. I've seen new Galaxy s7's go for not much more than £440 (granted it has 128gb but then the S7 has a sd slot).

This is competing with the edge, I. E. 5.5" so add more £££.

I'm sure phones know when they're about to get replaced...

I was out last night, my Moto G (2nd) gen was at 80% battery at 6pm, come 11pm it's died with zero battery! Didn't use it much and was on wifi for a bit too.

I was umming and erring about the increased price on the 3T but I've had enough of this phone now, might even splash out for the 128GB version :D

Debatable.. Regular S7 has more resolution, 3T doesn't have edge screen. If you're basing it solely on screen size sure, but I think it's fair to say it's competing with both.

I don't know why anyone would want to defend one plus raising the price anyway. It's only us consumers loosing out at the end of the day.

All that matters is that we have choice. Vote with your wallet. OP3 at £309 was never a sustainable business model.

Ha, my reservation has finally arrived at my local O2 shop and then the 3T arrives! Tbf i think i'll save myself £80 odd quid and stick with the 3!

Currently deciding between the Xiaomi Mi5 and the 3T for when it's released, however at the same time I'm debating if the 3T is worthy over the 3 itself - though it would be nice come Black Friday if the 3 came down in price at some places to get rid of the last remaining stock.

Liam.

I would have said size was the over-riding factor.

It's more just about being fair I think.

They have explained about the UK price increase a little on twitter - Carl Pei said:

Noticed a few comments on price from UK. Thought I should comment though I dislike discussing price, as we're here to create best products.

Apart from upgraded components, existing components like AMLOED, RAM & ROM is seeing increased pressure this year. Then we have the USD:GBP.

Fluctuations resulted in periods of negative margin for us. We raised the price of the OP3, and were close to raising it again but held off.

It felt too complicated, especially with the OP3T around the corner. So that's why. Still extremely confident about product competitiveness.

So with the OP3 at £329 they were actually losing money on them as certain points.
