OnePlus OS Updates?

I've had nothing but Samsung in the Android space for a long time in both phones and tablets but starting to look at other options.
Interested in OnePlus and in particular their OnePlus Pad 3 but wondered what their Android OS updates are like? Do they tend to be regular?

Not as good as Samsung and Google. OP only guarantees 4 years of OS updates. From experience, security updates tend to be fine and on time for at least the first year the device is out, but it slows down considerably after that, sometimes moving to bimonthly, or even longer.

If timely updates are important to you then I would stick with Samsung or try out Google's Pixel phones.
