Ordered a Samsung Galaxy S3 on 3 via these last night 10.45pm ish, they guy on customer services reckoned everything is all OK, I haven't heard diddley squat regarding the credit and network check.

Anyway the way as the call progresses he says the handset has been picked and awaiting packing for me as we speak. It will be here by Friday 4 Jan 2013 at the earliest, then pops me on hold when I said I'd ordered it online, to be told it would be here by 2 Jan 2013

His story seemed all over the place...

How can the phone be ready for packaging when no network checks have been completed?!

I asked for the tracking number...you cant have that til it's wrapped up which will be tea time...

In a way I'm sorry I ordered from these as they have started the process of debiting my account of £110 for the handset...
 
Well they won't dispatch till they have your first payment any way, I wouldn't start moaning until they had actually let me down.
 
Wasn't there talk of shortages of this handset on 3 via OSPS? In the SGS3 thread?

I read tons of bad reviews on this shop on google...are they honestly to be believed? Or are they OK?

Guy I spoke to on the phone was good.

There will be delays, since the deal was so good it seems half of HUKD ordered one and they couldn't actually process all the orders the same day, but being a CPW company, they'll have plenty of stock, it's just a case of where that stock is - some of it will have to be moved around, unless they're just dispatched from a CPW central hub.

I was impressed by Yodel too (:eek:), as mine was dispatched on Friday with an expected delivery of today - rather nice surprise to hear a knock on the door on Saturday morning. I guess with the busy period and three bank holidays in a working week they opted to get their drivers out over the weekend. :)
 
There were a few, but I think the most popular was £15pm, 24 months, £60 up front for the red S3 (£85 for the blue or white S3). For that you get 100mins per month, 5000 texts and all-you-can-eat data.

The other popular one upped the calls from 100 to 300 for an extra £3pm, off the top of my head.

Edit: The contract offer is still on, but the phone cost has been bumped to £110 for the phone.

Even at £110 upfront for the handset it is not bad value...£27 cashback via Quidco if it tracks reliably.

Mine did the same. Try adding your tracking reference here instead.

That said, most couriers don't have the parcel in the system until it's been collected anyway.
 
updating online tracking always takes time on the first day :) normally it goes live as soon as it reaches the fist place it gets scanned at :) currently its in a van(i guess) on its way to the first hub where it will be scanned and tracking updated.

it will be in cpw hands.. awaiting collection suggests that.. :) the tracking only shows that the info of the parcel(size/weight/collection place/delivery address/etc) was received and it still hasn't been collected from sender.
 
Also if I backup my SGS2 data using Kies, can I upload it to the SGS3? To carry on where I left off...?
 
No issues with them, ordered the same handset from OneStopPhoneShop (SGS3 for £60 + £15/month) on Thursday night, got a call from them the next day, quick credit + details check, they told me it would be here on Monday, before New Year. Arrived on Saturday in the early hours, much to my surprise.

Great service in my experience. £27 cashback tracked too.
 
don't think that will work really.. if you have root access just get titanium backup and backup all your apps + data

make sure your contacts are synced with google account

get sms/call backup app from play store

and pictures/audio w/e you want of the phone memory :) the things that are inside the memory card won't need backing up tbh, you'll just insert the old sd card in s3 and that should work fine.

and to get back all the apps with data(facebook/some apps will ask you to re-enter the login details)

install titanium backup and w/e you used to backup texts/calls and restore
 
well then you just need to make sure they are synced with google account - once you set your s3 up they will be back automatically without you doing anything - just triple check if you are going to reset your s2

and photos is simple again.. i think you can even sync drop box to upload them all ? easiest way is to just move them all to SD and thats it.
 
I'm sure photo's are all drag and drop via USB...easily done :)

I need to use this google account thing, never done that before.
 
yup :) well if you can access google play store then you will have the account already! which means that you simply need to make sure that all your contacts are synced and thats it really :)
