2GB Geil black dragon 4-4-4-12 1.8-2.4 voltage
MSI P45 NEO
E7200

PC WONT POST when i press restart in windows my pc will start but not display bios information
The highest stock voltage and clock i can get that doesnt do this is 2.8 @ stock voltage or 1.21 (1 increment) @ 2.9
I went to 3ghz and even with the voltage @ 1.26 it was getting errors when restarting
I did however do an orthos blend test for an hour and it was stable so maybe its something else beside voltage as i increased voltage like 4 increments to 1.26

ye i have that double checked, its definately not running above 800 mhz or lower than timings, i even added more voltage to the ram of 2.0 when stock is 1.8 just to make sure

Seems 2.8 is the max my stock voltage holds

I did this at 1 increment to the voltage and restarted and get the same problem

I upped the voltage 2 more notches to about low 1.2's and it still did it

i even upped the voltage to 1.26 and it doesnt want to restart properly @ 3ghz 1:1 ratio
Could i need up up the voltage on mch or another part? i already give it 3 increments and the problem is persistent

raising mch ich and vtt enables me to restart my pc without crashing at 3ghz but how far can i raise them and what do they affect?

1.23vcore
2.0 vram
1.100
1.125
1.5

They are like 2/3 notches higher than standard except the 1.125 which is about 5

ok upped vcore and vram to what you said 1.34 and 2.1
I give all other voltage options 3 increments from stock and booted to 3.2 and doing an orthos blend test now

Temp of core 0 is 49 temp of core 1 is 39

hehe, well i tried 366 and 4-4-4-12 and it booted fine when pressing restart

Must have been becuase i had not upped the mch ich vtt votlages, i have since upped them 3 notches

Currently orthos blend testing on the settings you said just to check memory at these speeds - i did a memory test btw and it passed fine using the .iso memtest disk

EDIT - after i pressed enter i seen the orthos error, only thing i changed was the ram from 5-5-5-15 --> 4-4-4-12 and upped fsb from 363? to 366

currently small fft testing on same settings and no errors so looks like i need to up the ram voltage... correct? how tho - its running slower than stock and at MORE VOLTAGE!

Stable ^^
I went for 3600 and orthos immediately fails on blend and small fft's
does that mean i need to up my voltage and vram?

I really dont want to go from 1.34 --> 1.36 as thats the next increment, the ram is fine as geil says upto 2.4 and im only around 2.1/2.2

edit, tried 3.6 on 1.36 vcore and no joy :( blah - what next?

ok will do that now
i dont think my overclocks at 2.4 are stable without the ram increase voltage, geil says they are able to goto 2.4 and they dont seem hot to touch, my ambient is extremely cool btw - just checked my ram its not above 2.14 yet anyway :D

orthos blend and error within 1min at 1.37vcore and 3600mhz
orthos small fft error instantly at 3600 - iv had to go from 1.34 to 1.36 and still nothing even though its only 1 increment

http://c.imagehost.org/0509/3_6_fft_stable_blend_not.jpg here is the screenshot continuing from the 2hour test at 3hrs - guess its the ram then

Can you give me more information on testing the ram, i burnt the iso and booted up into memtest then it ran memtest and it took about an hour and passed

i tried 3.7 and then 3.65 @ 1.39vcore and an extra increment on the ram and it failed on my small fft and blend orthos test

I belive im hitting my max overclock, unless overvolting the other 3 options in my bios are a good idea to increase overclock

Still.. going from 1.34 @ 3.4ghz and 1.368 is a step to achieve an extra 200mhz
tried 1.41 vcore with 3.7ghz and upped every other voltage by 1increment and it failed fft test

Guess iv hit the max for my chip :D
So how do i go about getting the max out of my memory and quickest way to squeeze the extra 5mhz out of my cpu

edit - tried 399 x 9 = 3599or so and my system is unstable how? this is doing a blend test and small fft
Why is my cpu unstable at 9multi and not 9.5?

System doesnt want to be stable on 3.6
My small fft test was fine but my blend test wasnt, this was with my ram running at 2.17 volts and it was only on 800mhz which is reccomended, it runs my system fine stable at 800mhz at lower voltage 1.8 when my pc isnt overclcoked

i have run memtest though, booted using the cd rom and ran a memtest fine...
I also couldnt get my system to run stable until i put 1.9v through my ram @ stock settings

What is mch ich and vttfsb?

Ok, thnx for the information
I decided to go screw it and upped most my voltages
1.41vcore (a lot of increments)
2.206 ram (a lot of increments)
1.124 on mch (3increments)
1.22 on ich (3increments)
1.60 on vtt (2 increments) u said dont go above 1.55 is this dangerous

What can i take higher or lower if its dangerous
Currently blending at 1:30mins @ 3600 stable real temp max is 56/53

If i did cripple my chip my too much voltage can i somehow decribe in the warranty a way im covered ie, i never overclocked at all? ;)
