The mini project is coming on a treat, the box has beebn rebuilt and the engine is in. I have fitted a minisport fast road cam which has made the valve springs go coil bound. So to rectify this(after about 3 months of playing ith different rockers and spacers) dads mate made up a trapaning tool to cut away that spring platform. The tool had a centering spindle that fitted into the valve guide and the cutter is basically a 5mm thick hole saw. So i took the head into school to use the miller, i started cutting away and milled away 2 platforms. When i did the third the spindle in the middle of the tool managed to get extremley well lodged into the valve guide and it snapped off inside the guide- that was that new set of guides needed and more delays to getting my engine running. The good news is the head is at the machinists having a new set of guides fitted right now ready for next week-if it doesnt turn over then i will have to take the cam out.
