MY Onkyo 606 amp is losing its video signal over HDMI, I have sent it back to have the HDMI daughterboard replaced and firmware updated and everything was fine for a couple of weeks, now however, when watching SKY HD its doing it again, albeit only on BBC 1 or BBC HD (weird!!).

Does this mean the Daughterboard is knackered already or is anyone else suffering the same problems after having the original board replaced?

I have Sky HD, PC, Sony S360 bluray attached via HDMI, output via the Onkyo to a Panasonic 42PZ80b.

Its very frustrating, also when switching from PC with Dual monitors it used to switch off the second display in windows automatically, now it does not.

Does it do this with any other kit apart from SKY.
I only ask as this was happening on my Thomson HD box a while ago.
Easily fixed by yanking the HDMI and pluging it back in, but still anoying.

Seems to be only Sky at the moment. This was how it began previously though and over time everything began to have problems, I have a Pace HD box. I'll try pulling the HDMI and seeing how it goes....:)

IT was RS where I got mine, had it repaired originally under their supercare warranty, they gave me a loan unit until mine was repaired. Excellent service.

I have the same amp and I have this but only with Cbeebies - after so long the TV screen just goes blue and you have to switch the amp on and off.

Seems a really bizarre quirk.

With my mates one it's a case of he'll try to switch his blu-ray or 360 on, and the HDMI just doesnt always connect, the other day when I was round it took about 10 times before something would sync up...

He's going to be speaking to the shop shortly whilst his warranty lasts!

Mine was the same, it was the HDMI daughterboard that was cracked due to excessive heat, seems its a problem inherent in the first 606's released. I have a new board now and was ok for a fortnight and is now playing up again...Grrrrr
