does anyone have experience of using online banking apps? I'm with Natwest and was wondering if the app is slow to update, I should have money in from a paypal payment but its not showing.

worth going to the atm to see if its there?

There should be no difference whether you look via the app, internet or ATM. It will all get the information from the same systems.

Barclay's for me and can't live without it. Wife and I have separate accounts and we are constantly sending money to each other via mobile phones when we do shopping.

System only gone down once or twice for a few hours in nearly 2 years.

Easy this way for us.

Are we talking a large amount? I recently had a transfer of a few thousand not show up in the transferees account for a day as it had been picked up by Barclays fraud monitoring team to check everything was legit.

Otherwise though, the Barclays app is fantastic. You can do anything you'd ever really need to without ever visiting the bank, such as setting up, viewing and cancelling direct debits, clicking a button and being put straight through to a uk call centre etc.

Sometimes they stop large transfers for a fraud check, maybe its that?

The app should show the money as soon as it lands.

And another Barclays app user here, its really good. I also have the lloyds one which isn't as good imho.

+1 barclays app is very good so is halifax and amex

I have not been in to a bank in 3 years and only then to set up my mortgage.

Even paid deposit for house etc using it.
Quite scary sending thousands from your phone but very easy.

I've moved accounts a few times lately, from Barclays to Santander and now to Halifax. Barclays was by far the best app but the worst bank, Santander's was okay to navigate but extremely slow to update transactions, Halifax's is fine however it looks a bit clunky plus its not letting my transfer any money via the app, keeps telling me that I'm trying to move too much and should select a lower amount, I'm only trying to move a tenner

Never had any problems with my mobile banking app being slow to update or showing me something different to what's on the website. Routine maintenance is the only thing that generally hinders my mobile banking experience, which seems to catch me out on about a monthly basis.

Natwest have the most unreliable internet banking going. So many failures leaving people with no money.

Yet its voted best app in market?

I think you may also be confusing clearing related queries with banking apps. If it hasnt cleared or hit your account, it wont appear.

FYI - RBS own Natwest and Ulster.

I just use my browser on my phone with Santander and its instant...its the interwebs man dont you know.

I've used the Natwest mobile banking app for years and never had any issues with it. Always shows payments when they hit my accounts.
