Just got onlive even brand new games are £1 just got space marine for £1 and it requires no download you just play, its amazing!¬

No its not, it makes games look hideous and the input lag is horrendous.

I love these kind of comments,

Person 1 : I love onlive it's amazing, having lots of fun.

Person 2 : No it's not, it's crap, stop having fun you.

Person 1 : ok, your right, thanks, fun averted.

:p

Some people just don't notice the lag or care too much about out video compression, they are just happy to play a new game for a pound easily.

I use a 360 pad for most of my PC gaming so input lag isn't felt nearly as much as it is with a mouse, I'll happily play through Deus ex human Revolution for a pound rather than paying £30 for the game as I'm not exactly flush atm with all these new releases.

Still its basically a free game, there updating the graphics soon they set it to a 1280x720 because thats what most peoples internet can handle. Soon there changing it so its worth buying when there a pound

ahhh input lag, guaranteed to drive you insane in under 30 minutes.

I wonder if i could make a usb or ps2 plug though adapter that you could stick on the end of somone's mouse/keyboard cable (like one of those physical key loggers) that delays mouse/keyboard input by say 0.5 seconds and watch them go mental :D

ugh? a pound lol, are you serious?, you try way too hard mate, where else are you going to play these new releases for that kind of money?, and your talking to people that don't really care about the input lag etc, I'd understand it if we were talking about full price games but we're not.

Not really. You realise that the idea of a forum is to discuss things, right?

If you bothered to check the large already existing thread, as has been suggested, you would know that people have already reached your conclusion. OnLive is great for people that aren't serious gamers. However, the vast majority of people reading the PC Gaming Forum don't fall into that category.

It already uses ~8mb/s constantly in all it's blurry, 720p awfulness. All that increasing the resolution will acheive will be raping more bandwidth.

How many people in their target market are really going to be on an uncapped package in the UK?

Despite people so far being unhappy with it I can understand its a great push forwards.

Anyone seen g4mer? Hopefully in the future we'll have systems like that.

Which is fine but were talking about an opening post where a guy says he thinks the service is amazing, so I really don't see what sense it makes to convince him otherwise unless he's truly wasting his money which atm he isn't.

Complete sceptic, tried it the other day on my crappy laptop which couldnt run wolfenstein. Had a couple of problems until I used my wallplug thingys to connect it directly to the router and hey presto, no discernable lag on trial 40K. Seriously impressed.

Havent picked it up since because I still prefer my 27" monitor and 'proper' computer, but I have no doubt Onlive is the future, probably with demos first and then full games. The console crowd will gobble it up once bandwith and technology catches up.
