Only 1 core working?

Open a command window and type bcdedit/? see if it works and check the options you have. Not sure about XP, I cant check, only have a Vista laptop at the mo.

or another way Start->run->msconfig->boot, press advanced options, check /NUMPROC= and choose how many cores. All it does is edit the boot.ini

If I try that the only option is 1 so its a case of it not being recognised. Bios recognises it as dual core but in system -> device mgr only one processor listed.

Even if windows doesnt pick it up cpu-z should. Im thinking maybe 1 core has died on me but have no way to prove / disprove this other than plugging in another pc which I dont have access to currently.

Maybe my pc is telling me to upgrade to Intel :)
