Hello and thanks for letting me join.

I live pretty much out in the sticks (postcode SY13 4LY) and after a lot of searching 3 years ago when we moved in, could only find one broadband provider for our road, which is Talk Talk, ASDL only.
The amount of providers on-line that say they can offer us connectivity at 11mbps and more is just not reality, as when they check again, it's a big "No sorry we can't".
BT, Plusnet, EE all say they can on-line but the reality is they can't. We have no fibre in our area and there are no plans to either. Our max speed is about 1.8mbps which is useless.

My question is... Is there an accurate checker on line anywhere? I've already tried "Samknows" on the sticky but the same results show, i.e. lots of providers including BT who have already stated that they can't provide us. The other link doesn't work.

Thanks, Will

Most ISPs will say they won’t take an order because your line is rated up to 1mpbs according to dslchecker. While they can technically provide ADSL, the assumed hassle they think they’ll get from you taking your money and having such woeful speeds means they just don’t bother in my experience when push comes to shove. Computer says yes but real person vetos it.

You’re going to be stuck, or explore satellite, 4G or if there is a WISP or similar provider in your area I’m afraid.

That's useless too as it says there's no data available for my number. Bit of a joke considering I actually have a landline with them ☺

You do realise that regardless of who supplies your broadband, it is still coming down the same cable...... I live in the sticks and get 500k download

If that house nearest the postcode on Google Maps is yours, then I congratulate you - Very nice!!!
However, crap internet is the price you pay for living somewhere nice like that... well, one of the prices - Lack of gas or sewerage, ground movement, crumbly old 1850s buildings, no insulation, no affordable heating, bugs, rats, bats, farmers growing rape, tractors, and many others are also elements of the final bill.

We're on 0.7Mbps, with BT being our only option, even though we're less than a mile from the exchange and 9 minutes from a massive town centre.
However, after 4 years of works, we're right on the cusp of finally getting GigaClear fibre at 900Mbps!
I would suggest going to them and some of the other rural internet companies, registering your interest, and getting as many of your local folks to do the same - The more interest, the more likely they are to roll out something decent to you.

Whoops, missed that. As above, Airband seem to think you're covered. You also allegedly have good EE and Three 4G.
