Had a bit of a result a couple of days back so I decided to buy a new board and a second 670 JS to go SLI with.

Board..

GPUs looking pretty !

Just waiting on the board which should arrive tomorrow then you can bet I'll be doing some tests and single vs sli :)

I could jump off a doll's house hahaha.

Yeah I'm pretty excited. I was running 480 SLI until my poolit sprung a leak and wrecked one :(

Nice, like the coolers on those 670's, what they like noise wise?

Exactly the same as the TFIII. Good 'til about 60% then they start making a whining noise.

The fans are very similar. The only down side to the JS is this.

I really got lucky with that board tbh. It's going to be tight but it will just about fit and I only paid £77 for it.

Looking forward to some bench results :)

cool beans man.

I might fire the results over in a text file so you can make me some of your lovely charts :)

I got Hitman Absolution in the Steam sale for a cockel so I'm well pleased about that. Quite demanding too so will be used to bench with :)

Not a prob :) Send them over anytime.

Very nicely layed out board that. Look forward to your results with sli.

From what I can tell it's 16x 16x too. Unless it changes when you use both. They're never clear about it the gits.

Mind you at what I paid for it I can't complain.

Most Z77 boards (nearly all) will only run X8 but not sure on that board. It is very minimal anyways and wouldn't be noticed.

Edit:

Both lanes at X8 speeds.

From what I can tell they are full 16x 16x

With E7 (slot 7, the last blue one) being 4x. There's no mention of anything else tbh so if I'm jammy then they are full 16x 16x

I helped my brother build his first gaming pc two weeks ago with that motherboard. It's absolutely beautiful and has amazing boot speed.

We put it with a ssd and windows 8. Boot speed was approx 8 seconds from cold and 15 to reboot.

No kidding.

Sweet ! yeah I was sure to do my homework first. They have everything you could need. SATA III, USB III etc.
Though I confess I had such a hard on for the yellow and black one that comes with a free racing car :D

Fiancee bought me it so I couldn't be greedy but I really wanted me some racing car love :(

two lanes @ 8x speed PCI-E V3.0 in SLI or CROSSXFIRE. I own the MSi G45 with the Z77 chipset, great value for money minus the OC gene, it says in the press it has OC gene 2, but all 3 buttons on the motherboard are missing so you can only really control the OC auto software gene from withinside Windows im afraid.

also its missing the same bBIOS THE G65 and g80 have called THE "something BIOS II" it still a board to fetch 4.5Ghz on your 2500K provinding you have ARCTIC FREEZER i30 cooler, by coolermaster, its a new advanced cooler, that cools only for intel LGA1155, 1156 and 2011. 320w OF COOLING power. and its got a backplate to install unlike the Freezer 13 and 7 Pro.

You could be right though mate. I remember my Z68 board saying 2 X16 slots but would only run X8 in SLI. Tomorrow will tell for sure.

Trust me when I say that this board in the flesh look a lot more expensive.

There are two fast boot options in the bios iirc.

One is windows 8 fast boot which I think we couldn't enable due to gpu not being supported and the other is msi fast boot.

Once that's enabled.....whoosh.
