was looking at these as my next upgrade but after reading some of the reviews
i am going to wait for the new mobo's before i decide to take the leap from my q6600
What do you mean? I have seen nothing but good reviews for it... Or do you just mean the performance you would gain from a 6600 isn't worth it?
Yes, they are. Here is a comparison.
Hence if you were planning to upgrade to either an i7 920 or a Sandy Bridge Quad core - definitely go for the Sandy Bridge.
However, if you already have an i7 920 - then I would not recommend switching. The performance increase is not worth the money/hassle of a full upgrade IMHO, and an i7 920 should be plenty fast enough for most tasks.
So, my i7 980X is really a sandybridge, with less pins ?
A 980x (lga 1366) has more pins fool!
I swear the new cpus are fluctuating in price, by a few pounds at a time, although ive only been watching the 2500K...
Anyone have an idea on the sound volume of the Ultima Tyrannosaur with a pair of 580's?
Agonising over if to put in an order at the last minute as only saw the system today but worried about the sound level.
Gone are the days that PC's sound like hoovers or hairdryers.
Ok ever a sucker... placed my order. Better book wednesday off.
Well, they have to compensate for the VAT discount offer (which finishes today, I believe!) somehow!
Think I will hang on now though until after the initial demand has been satisfied, and prices start to fall a bit, due to increased competition.
No reason why that shouldn't happen again, I don't think.
Give sales a call before you go booking a day off as we build the systems to demand and put them through testing before shipping out, so delivery might be more like Thursday or Friday, like I say call sales and arrange a day to take delivery.
