wohoo said:Yeah the only mods i can get away with are the intercooler and a power chip, and probabaly a Induction kit, anything else will get in trouble as its a company car.
But tbh, any quicker and I will find myself getting into more trouble.
wohoo said:Mine is running 256 as std according to the rollers a few weeks back, i dont think my car is particularly quick tbh, its too heavy, but in gear acelleration is fantastic, quicker than a R32 in gear apparently.
^^Gord^^ said:Really? I'm suprised at that. Is this the new or old R32? Got a link?
Stephen B said:I'm keeping a close eye on these types of cars atm, as I intend to change cars next year, so far its narrowed down to the ST3/R32/S3, I was considering a new type R, but I do too many motorway miles these days, yes I know none of my short list is particularly frugal on the motion lotion, but I aint getting any younger so wth

wohoo said:S3 and R32 are a class above the focus tbh.Give me a R32 anyday, mind you when you are looking at these premium hatches, you cant discount the 130i either (despite its fugly looks).

seen quite a few
Leicestershire Police's fave's is the Octavia VRS but they do have a mondeo ST220.
nottinghamshire are a bit more varied though, running an Accord Type R (red)and a bmw 535 (dark green)
and they all without exception have stupidly large aerials far too big to anything other than for police radio
its not rocket science spotting them![]()
Poppy said:Notts police also have a black Accord Type-R according to the guy @ Lookers Honda dealer i was chatting with a few weeks back.
Stephen B said:yes a class above and the price reflects this, before buying my current mk5 golf I thought you were buying into quality when selecting VAG, my experience of this one and many like it on the MK5 forums suggests otherwise.
hence looking at cheaper but nonetheless "fun" alternatives
p.s. don't underestimate "fugly" when choosing a car, BMW 1 series was never a contender with those looks
Matey of mine has a MK5 golf, i used to think VW were decent cars.. no more! Got the car brand new, hardly drove it and it only has 34,000 on the clock. So far: First car: Front passenger door dosen't fit properly, dealer gave him a replacement car (LOL), this car has had a blown clutch at 8000 miles! dealer sorted thankfully, replacement trottle body, car then used to surge to high rpms even at idle.. dealer did something and it worked for a few months then had to do it again... alarms went off by themselves, battery died and replacement died within a week, they claimed the wire harness and ECU had issues and replaced both..windows stopped working, dealer fixed.. three times and the car consumed more oil than was legal!. Now for the kicker, at 34,000 the timing belt broke.. heh. I'm staying away from VW as i had a look around the web and things really don't seem nice from a quality and service point of view.
