Ooops...

When he was tailgating you in an area he can't over take easily on, just do what I do.

Foot off accelerator, drop in neutral and at the gate for 2nd gear - if they go for the over take then whack it into 2nd and floor it.

Had this several times lately, and that always works. Last bloke to do it was someone fat idiot in a Vectra, did it to him which ****** him off completely and angered him more. Then on a dual carriageway later there was a lorry just pulling away on a green light just a head which then merges in turn into a single lane. I pulled along side the lorry and waited until the last minute to feed in front of him which left Mr Grumpy having to pull in behind him.

this is only ever going to work if you have a really fast car, and even then there is still a good risk of you getting run off the road, rammed, hit with a baseball bat etc...

If you're in second in any car you'll more than likely manage to out-accelerate a van, who is probably in a higher gear than you...

that's just stupid and reckless though.

Makes you no better than the person tailgating IMO, just as dangerous. :)

Not meaning to sound funny but sure all you need is a new wing and bumper?

You might wanna check your subframe if your gonna fix it.

I want to take the wing off to check the damage to the actual structure of the car. I've been informed that the wing is bolted on, and also bonded, so removing it could be a right pain.
The drive gear works fine, nothing is damaged on that front. The RAC bloke that came to help checked it over, and we drove it a short way to check it was ok. I then drove it 60miles home with no problems.

So running-wise it is fine, but structurally at the moment I do not know.

EDIT - and as yet the van driver has not contacted me. Which is interesting as he said he would, but my insurance company may have contacted him. I'll phone them tomorrow to see at what point the whole thing is at. If he isn't going to claim (don't see why he wouldn't) then I'll see if I can stop my company from removing my 1ncb and my half of my 2nd ncb.

Unlucky, but you shouldn't "wave" at people and not expect them to do anything about it. What he did wasn't right either but you just have to accept it, people overtake me all the time as i don't want to speed and lose my license after Ive just got it.

Yeah, my fault, I know, and admitted it at the scene.

I have people gesture at me sometimes, or flash lights etc. but I just ignore it, much simpler and safer.

I certainly won't be waving or gesturing at people in the future, that event really showed me I'm a right arse behind the wheel really. In a way I'm glad it happened, but also it's well annoying that it did.

cos the winterz are here and the roads are cold and wet

DSC, ABS, ABD, EBC, KYB, GAF etc for the win, otherwise we are all going to die

Why is everyone crashing!

Well it wasn't on purpose. :p

Well I had none, and didn't die. :p

So this thread is basically the result of you being a silly boy?

Yes, as most accidents are. I just thought I'd share my stupidity with the masses, as most seem to do that here. :)

It's because you've admitted the accident was your fault, these guys have no one to argue with and therefore, aren't getting their fix.

I mean look at my speeding thread, because I admitted responsibilty from the word go, it's only two pages. If I'd have asked "how can I get out of the fine" there would have been a 20 page thread with most of the posts stating things such as "OMGZ CHILD KILLARZ"

lol :p

But still, sorry to hear of your accident. It's never a nice feeling when you have a bump. Hope it all works out for the best :)
