Ooops...

A little update on this...

Today I got a letter in the post from his solicitors, saying he is going to be going to a doctors and will be claiming for injury. Now I'm not a plank, I clipped (didn't full on hit even) him at MAX of 10mph, more likely 5mph, he got out and said he was absolutely FINE, not injured or anything. Now, 2 weeks on, he is going to see a doctor and claim for it.
Just seems like he's trying it on, which from what I've heard about him (lives near my missus so goes to the same pub as her parents etc.) he is the sort to do this.

I phoned my insurance company's legal advice line and the nice person said I need to tell my insurance company about the letter, and that the legal team would phone me back within an hour and a half (literally just put the phone down, so have a wait).

I'm really not impressed with this, I know technically it doesn't do anything to me as that's what my insurance is for, I just don't want this person to claim when it is clearly completely BS, abusing the system etc.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Currently been 2 months since it happened and nothing has been sorted yet. Takes around 6 months so my insurnace company have said.

Whats the success rate of going "I have a pain in my neck"? He would have felt pain the day after at the latest? Having a sub 10mph crash and developing pains a few days after gets some alarm bells ringing.

After hearing a few stories off people its more than likely that the insurance company are pushing for people to claim compo. My step mum's solicitor started proceddings for her even when she said she didnt really want to. It just annoys me that they can easily con some money out of other peoples insurance company by blatently lying.

Yup, I've detailed all of this in a covering letter to Endsleigh. I've already sent in a report from myself, but have reiterated the point of it being a slow collision, which in fact was me clipping his van and not colliding with it, so less of a bump and less chance of injury.

He's a person that is known to do things like this and get away with it, so I want to fight him and stop him from getting it.

Due to him being petty it also makes me wonder if I should counter it with a lawsuit against him for the fact he stopped in the middle of the road, causing me to pull round him which resulted in the accident, and then all the ensuing grief. To be honest I really don't need to be getting letters from solicitors etc. at the moment and it really is stressing me, especially as I have lots of coursework deadlines (one tomorrow, one Tuesday) and have to concentrate on my studying at uni, which is made inherently harder by the hassle and grief of letters etc.
But the thing is, I'm not the sort of person to sue, I can't stand the whole suing people for the sake of it culture and I don't want to be part of it. Unlike him though, I will not stoop to that sort of level, and I will just get on with my life (even though I feel like hell at the moment). :)
