Ok, need some help.
i decided to give my computer a complete wipe and reinstall, as after playing about with various OS's, dual booting and the like, my hard drives were in a bit of a mess.
so, i backed up everything i wanted keeping to my second drive (80gb SATA, channel 3) and proceded to re-install XP. i wiped all the partitions, and remade them -
D: 40Gb XP
E: 40Gb Vista
F: 10Gb Swap File
H: 140Gb Storage
i started installing XP, went without a hitch, set it up fine, installed all the drivers (latest GeForce, logitech setpoint, as well as the lan, ide, audio and AMD cool 'n' quiet drivers from the mobo CD) also AVG antivirus and DX9c.
after all that, i restarted the computer. this is where its buggered.
it came up with
SYSTEM BOOT DISK FAILURE INSERT BOOT DISC AND PRESS ENTER
i hadnt changed any bios settings, the OS is on the same physical drive, i think the only difference is its now D instead of C. i checked the boot sequence, and the HD boot priority, and that was fine, it was set to sata channel 4 first, so it should be finding it. however, even if i put the XP disc in and reboot, it still comes up with the error, it wont boot from the hard drive or the CD, even when i changed the priority to CD first.
have i confused the bios when i changed all the partitions or is there something i'm missing?
Please help, i need my BF2 fix soon!
