Hmm ok, so in the past few weeks my car has developed a slight rattle... it comes and goes so I finally decided to investigate today!

To my dismay it looks as if a mounting has just plainly snapped! now I dont know wether its a bloody important one or not so im going to try and describe where it is to you lot and pray :p

Ok firstly its part of the turbo system but not the turbo itself, its on the pipe that "picks up" the exhuast fumes to run the turbo (err i think thats how it works) anyways just next to what I think is the gear box is a mount that re routes the big pipe up the the top of the engine and into the turbo itself, thats the mount which is broken, dunno how but it looks as if its sheared?! the pipe works fine as far as i can tell as the turbo works (I get a noticeable boost in power just over 2k revs)

So what do you reckon? can I bodge it with some sort of chemical metal or am I screwed and need to take it to a dealer?

mountings regarding engine, gearbox and the like dont like bodging, they like fixing.

Yours doesnt sound like one of those, if its purely the pipe mounting bracket a replacement + welding or just welding or some sort of metal epoxy would probably be fine.

Though it begs the questions why it broke in the first place...

Pics :D
