Even with low miles seems you paid a lot more of a premium then £1k for it! probably close to 3k, and without even having air con, (£1k option or their abouts) You can get 55 plate Premiere edition Type Rs with around 50k miles for that sort of money! Cant see you not losing much money on it as you said either come sell time in a year you would be pushing to get £4.5k if your lucky!

You can't trade an FR for a CTR! S2000 on the other hand I would certainly go for...insurance companies don't really like them though.

No, I don't like the facelift at all. But then we know we're weird eh?

Headlight adjusters are a common failure, mine never worked. I think they can be done manually. Costly replacement otherwise.

Paid over the odds for little benefit. Adding 20k to the miles and saving £1500 to get a much younger model won't cost you in extra maintenance or depreciation on a car like this IMO.

I've got a 2004 facelift with a supercharger (and A/C) and FHSH that's only done an additional 12k miles you could've had for not much more than that.

£6k for a non-facelift without A/C is very steep imo, sorry to say. The cars are built to go around the moon so you're not really gaining much provenance from the lower (but not ridiculously lower) mileage imo.

Was it really worth paying a 3k premium for 50k less on the clock on a car that will do fairly high miles?

Depending on what kit it is, it normally takes them upto 270-300bhp.

they are an awesome addition to the vtec engine, maybe even eseential, they turn the engine into a viable full range offering. Night and day to the standard offering.

OP, anyway you can take it back and re-invest your cash more sensibly or strike a better deal?

Very nice, I currently need a deposit for a house but theres no way I can get rid of my CTR, love it too much.

Good deal there, the prices have come down substantially. About 1 1/2 years ago I bought my 54reg, 46k miles for £8.5k.

I prefer the pre facelift lights over the chavvy Lexus ones.

With you having it at 30k, it seems your probably going to hold onto it for awhile. You might want to look out for a KPRO ECU. They pop up on ebay from time to time for about £650. Lowers VTEC and lots more power across the midrange, also improved fuel economy. Think of it as an investment instead of spending money as come the time to sell, you will get near enough what you paid for it. They don't lose their value.

Good question, 3k premium ?, so you can get a mint condition 03 plate CTR for 3k ? (one without halfords crash damage)

I'm guessing if this car had 80k on it it would be up for 4 something...

End of the day it was 2 miles from home, and shouted buy me. The problem in my head with these cars is a real high miler is likely to of been abused a lot... I know it's what these engines are about but low milage seems important to me

Still it drives good, just waiting for some muppet to take a key along the side now
