Open CL GPU help

Ever mindful of the fact that there are some genuinely hugely informed people on this forum, I could do with some assistance.

Owing to the mammoth investment needed to upgrade all of the equipment we use for our systems (automated photography) to an AMD APU based solution, I am looking into running an Open CL GPU on our existing systems in order to speed up processing time for certain functions (primarily Chromakeying) while keeping the costs down.

Our software guy is rewriting our software to be Open CL compliant using the Cudafy library, but I am stumped as to which card would be best suited for our needs as I haven't got a huge budget (we're potentially needing to upgrade 250 plus systems!)

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks

Andy

Have a look at this graph to see relative performance of various GPUs using an Open CL benchmark.

However, I'm not sure I understand your question: have you already decided to use APUs ? In this case, why do you need additional GPUs ? The whole purpose on an APU is to combine a desktop-class GPU with an AMD CPU. The CPU component is not the fastest out there...

Sorry I wasn't clear.

I'd have liked to upgrade all of our systems to use APUs, but the outright costing atm is well out of budget.
Instead, I'm looking at using discrete graphics cards that support OpenCL to upgrade our existing kit.
CPU processing time is abysmal for high resolution images as we use are using the same kit that we use for our low level processing systems (Pentium 4s!)

Thanks for the link though, I'll have a shufti :)

Just gave the NVidia 9 series a go on an Open CL benchmark.
