Just a heads up as I know some people on here use this program. I haven't had the chance to install it myself yet so not sure about all the new features.
There have been a few compatbility improvements and a lot of security fixes in this new version.

* performance improvements: for example, a 23 percent improvement in certain Calc benchmarks
* further improvements to file format compatibility with Microsoft Office files
* new email integration features for users wanting to send emails in Microsoft file formats
* more control over how exported PDF documents will display when opened in a PDF reader
* support for more languages and improvements in hyphenation and thesaurus
* support for Intel architecture for Mac OS X plus improved Mac OS X System integration
* built-in check for updated versions

As soon as they can include something so you can use publisher files then I'll start using it until then I have to stick with MSOffice. We use a lot of publisher files at work and my mum uses them a lot at home, there's no way I can change it until then which is a shame. :(
