Just installed Open Solaris on a USB drive in the first steps of settin up a nas on it.

Its not a multiboot sp i was expecting it to create a GRUB entry for itself, it hasnt so how do i get the thing to boot?

Atm it just sits in Grub with no menu...

Any help would be much appreciated.

Installed to a hard drive and it all works perfectly, tryed reinstalling to a USB pen drive and same problem.:/

Cheers .walls, any idea how i could maybe fix it?

Hmm - it's been a while since I installed GRUB on a USB pen, but this should work.

From the GRUB console:

1) find the disk you want using the geometry command e.g. "geometry (hd0)" This will output partition tables, sizes and filesystems [as long as they are known to GRUB] .
2) use the root command to set the root onto the pen drive e.g. "root (hd4,0)" if (hd4) is the drive matching your pen drive's disk layout.
3) use the setup command to embed it in the mbr of your pen drive e.g. "setup (hd4)"

That *should* work...
