Open source online chat for website?

Does one exist? Or are their any reasonably priced ones out there? Not sure if there would be a market for it with my business but if it was free/low cost then I would be prepared to give it a go.

If you wanna go full on you can look at Jabber/XMPP. But i have been looking at it to make a Javascript client and its giving me a sore head
