Thats seriously annoying then. How come my Dimage Z3 had it, but not a full SLR? Boo, thats certainly a feature im going to miss.

Its the entry level DSLR, it has to have some missing features

If I remember rightly the Canon 20D didn't have a spot meter? And that was a pretty expensive camera at the time.

I know, but they didn't have to remove a feature I use. Couldn't they have replaced in camera editing with it or something?

Another question; I tend to use the camera set with the auto focus area mode set to 'Single Area', but it keeps reverting to 'Closest subject', and idea why? And is there a way to force it to stay on 'Single Area' until I tell it otherwise?
