Opening someone elses mail...

Is it illegal? For example if it was addressed to me and my brother (living in the same house) opened it without permission?

As far as I'm aware it is illegal, but expect the police to laugh at you if you reported it.

Well it being your brother you might not want to get him locked up... but it is definitely illegal.

Post is under the protection of the queen to be opened by the adressee only... tampering with the mail is quite a serious offence.
