Guys what do you think of the new map updated?

People visiting our online Ultrafast Full Fibre build map can now see the breadth and depth of our build represented by a simple three colour code:

Green - We’ve built to, or will be building to, the majority of this area

Blue – We’ve built to many parts of this area

Light grey – We’ve built to some parts of this area

Haven't they made the colours worse?

Before it was:
We've built this.
We're building this within this year.
We plan to build this.

Now green seems to be a conglomeration of: "We've built this, we're building this, we plan to build this."

So for instance my area is green, it used to be another colour which indicated they will build but not yet... but now green almost indicates that service is a) available (it's not) b) being built (it's not). Now you actually need to click the area to see what's really happening, you can't see from a glance with the colours.

The area next to mine is also green, but they are being built at the moment.

Edit: Actually zooming out most of the UK is now green. This is just a poor attempt to make it look like FTTP is far more readily available than it actually is. That's the truth of it.

Looks like good news for my area overall. All areas including mine are now Green.

But, it's hard to gauge how far along they are for my area in specific...

The v3 map seemed better.

EDIT - Some Green areas as further along than others - My area does not yet say 'Great News! We're building in this area already'.

Ditto what others have said, our local area shows as green on this map despite a non trivial amount of the area not being able to get FTTP.

I guess it's there to make it look like they've covered more areas however if its not a true reflection of the actual roll out its a bit pointless, no point in saying an area is green when only half of the houses are in scope

This map is completely useless. Having green showing it's either built or planning to be built is just too confusing. Previous map is still better as it gives you an idea on timeframe too. Shows green for my exchange but still black on the old map which means still over a year away until they begin building.

Are there any maps of this ilk that show which providers provide which speeds?

The Openreach postcode checker shows I can get up to 1800Mbps at my house through FTTP, but checking a few big providers directly shows none offering more than 900Mbps.

Roll on Dec 2026 when it comes to me... :(

Same here! Think it be finished by 2035!

Yeah mine is on that list as well and I wouldn't be surprised if end of 2026 is just a load of nonsense and gets pushed. I really don't understand why they are doing the next village over and not ours but hey ho. My current FTTC is up on 9th June so I'm thinking of joining those degenerates over on the 5G internet thread for a few years.
