Opera Link (sync) issues

I last used Opera in the late 90s, when it still had an advert box for unpaid installs. After ditching Firefox (slow) for Chrome (awesome) I decided to try Opera again too, so I grabbed the latest 11.51 and installed it.

I'm liking the speed and interface of it all, but I have to admit that the sync feature (Link) seems to suck badly. It doesn't seem to work at all. In Chrome it took seconds to set up sync and my MBP, desktop (Win 7) and laptop all synced perfectly in seconds. Brilliant.

Unfortunately in Opera it doesn't seem to work at all. :( I created a free Opera account, set up Link/sync and enabled it, and logged into my new Opera account via https://link.opera.com/

This showed all the bookmarks from my MBP; so far so good. Then I enabled it on my Win 7 desktop, and logged it in, and... nothing. My bookmarks don't sync, and neither does anything else. I've tried closing and reopening the browsers on both machines, rebooting, disabling and re-enabling Link, everything I can think of. WTH?

Am I missing something basic here? Why isn't it working? :o Is it just rubbish, or did I forget something? Since the list of bookmarks I want to syn from my MBP is showing on the Link website (when I log into my account) I'm wondering if I have to press something to actually initiate the sync? Maybe it's not auto-magic like Chrome, I just don't know.

Don't get me wrong I love Chrome (and it actually feels subjectively faster even if Opera DOES win the benchmarks), but I also like Opera and the fact this isn't working is driving me mad. I'm the sort of OCD anal-retentive who would have to fix the issue first even if he planned to uninstall the app and never use it again! I just can't leave it broken... haha

Any help and advice appreciated. TIA. :)

Never mind. With apparently no changes at my end whatsoever, my bookmarks just synced after almost two days of trying. Go figure.

I love Opera, and use sync but it's not the most robust syncing tool ever.

It nuked my Bookmarks once as it decided a fresh build on my laptop with default bookmarks was the copy it wanted to clone to all my systems and online.

My only other complaint is the Speedial order does not replicate to my Andoird version on mobile and at times some do not sync across/appear at all.
