Your mission should you choose to except it, is to enlighten Web users worldwide to the advantages of Firefox.

Here's how it works: You submit a plan describing where, when and how you'll install your giant 3.5-foot Firefox Fathead sticker.

The point is to place stickers in prominent, public places in interesting ways that will make people take notice and check out Firefox. The better your installation, the better our exposure.

The winners will either Scale Mount Everest, go deep into the underground or stick a Firefox banner up in the middle of New York during rush hour.

Some cool prizes on offer too, Mac Book Pros and Nintendo Wii's as well :)

So get brainstorming people... Here's your chance to promote your favourite web browser :)

Firefox is rubbish, uses up all my resources and is dog slow. Plus, I don't really care what other people use. But good luck all the same :)

Firefox Portable = win.

People who aren't "in the know" usually comment, at which point you direct them to the Firefox site.

Knackers :(

Still, doesn't stop people coming up with ideas!

If it didn't cost billions of pounds... I'm sure a giant Firefox logo on the moon would be cool

I use Firefox at both of my jobs, and at home on both operating systems. It feels "natural" to use it, however, recently more and more I have read about firefox makes me a little worried about it :

1) The software might feel a little bloated, but that is mostly because of the widget system it uses - windows doesn't have the same widget system so it has slightly higher overhead. Simultaneously, it loads like lightening on Ubuntu. Still doesn't justify the extremely high memory load in linux though.
2) The Mozilla Foundation is heavily funded by Google. I use Google all the time, but I am very wary of it... its just another company, we could use an open source search engine that Firefox could be linked to rather than Google. Google is more interested in advertising really than anything else. Mozilla buys into that.
3) All of these advertising campaigns seemed cute when we were fighting Microsoft, the big IE debate thing was cool. But if you consider Firefox to be in the pockets of Google, then all you are doing is favouring one company over another. Not really my cup of tea.
4) They are (or already have) dumped/dumping Thunderbird into its own project, unfunded. So it will die. As another one of its classic XULRunner type applications, why would it do that?
5) It is all set to be the browser for the gPhone when google anounces it. Why is a foundation doing all of the work for implementing a cut down version specifically for a particular company?

Just makes me worried, thats all. I've nothing against Firefox, I think its a good piece of software. But it worries me when these types of corporate alliances are in play. Next update, you might see google ads in there...

If Firefox gets ads put into it, it will be forked.

Never really used Firefox to be honest, only for a bit before IE7 launched.

Personally IE7 does everything that Firefox does that i'd ever use, plus I find it faster and more aesthetically pleasing.

Well think about it, we already have an enormous Google advert in every copy...

I also had a thought a long time ago - why doesn't Google embed a tiny "worker" applet or similar into every one of its search pages? It could talk to a dedicated server and perform calculations client side. Then, google wouldn't only be selling advertising, but your processing to companies.

All would be required is something hidden on the page, and you'll notice your clock cycles go up slightly. Then millions of computers start working for google...
