Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

How do you account for bullet drop with the sniper rifles then? Rifles such as the Dragunov have the numbered reticule, is it just a case of trial and error? Is there no way to get the shot right first time?

Reason for the question is this:

The only game, ever, to really truly accurately depict sniping was Novalogic's Delta Force 2 and to a lesser extent the rest of the DF series. In reality, you don't aim high or low like in most games. You adjust the degrees of your scope to match the distance a spotter gives you and account for wind. IN DF2 you used your num -+ keys to define your scope angle.

In games like DR, you aim high or centre based on the distance basically. I haven't seen the scope models but if they are realistic you will see, like you say, numbers and marks. Nice vid link btw. Real shame about that stupid red icon that appears when you hit a target! Realistic mode might be on from day one for me if that appears in the other modes!

Gotta say, CM have done a great job with the pre-release promotion. These vids they keep releasing really have done the job for me. I went from being slightly excited about this to thinking I'll buy it to now being very hopeful about it and the PC mod potential.

Just put my pre-order in for the Xbox 360 at £28.99 I really can't complain at that price at all :D

Just have to count down the days now until it drops on my door mat and I then turn into a hermit ... bring it on!

Stu

Tried so many times now to add card details on that site to be able to pre-order for it to have some kind of problem that I just can't bring myself to try any more. And I tried various cards, all of which are fine. Especially after they ignored the email I sent them about it - if they can't be bothered to help, I can't be bothered to give them my money.

Has character customisation been confirmed?

I LOVED the original one for that. Used to love ramping the voice pitch up really high or really low! Oh little things pleased me sooo much back then.

There was nothing funnier than hearing "Fire! Cannot Fire! Fire! Cannot! Fire! Oh no, 3 is down! This is 4, taking command!" in a high pitched voice on a battlefield.
