Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

First thing I did was install, if I'm sneaking around shooting commies I don't want the 360 drive giving my position away!
 
I did manage to take down a transport chopper with my team but then an attack chopper came and wiped my AI mates out and left me and my friend alone.

Hardcore mode is so brutal, I couldn't tell who was on my side so I was running towards two people, get to within knife range and crouch so I can check my map and then they kill me!

Damn Chinese!

I can see many good stories coming from this game while running around from cover to cover :D.
 
Still says packing on my order!!! ARGH!!!! Where did people buy this from to get it so early?

I have no idea what to do, nowhere in Reading has stuck it on their shelfs early. I am ill so no way I am venturing out of the house on the bike, cba playing shift, it is really bugging me atm, just can't seem to get stuck into it :(

Might play some assassins creed to pass time...

Any more updates on how this game is?

I was the only 1 of 4 mates who oredered it at the same time from the same place not to get mine yesterday, so the gits were all playing it last night!

they were doing a secondary objective on mission 1 and found a jeep so they didnt have to slog 2.5 clicks back to the primary..only for the driver to slide the vehicle down a hill/ridge after they had only travelled about 300 yards!so they had to get out and walk even further back to the primary.plus they said it was pitch black!

does the day/night cycle follow the 360's internal clock or is it on some sort of speedier cycle? they were saying it was pitch black once the sun went down and you could uses a torch..but that seemed to make you a target! or nv goggles which obviously restricts your peripheral vision

their summary is its hard work but satisfying
 
I hope it's not set to real life time cycles as this would be very annoying considering most of us work so wont be playing till the evening meaning we would only experiance the game at nighttime mostly.

So I am sure it's sped up. Probably a day cycle in 6 hours or something.

Its got a x3 day night cycle. Not related to the 360 clock.
 
still in 2 mines as to whether i should get this what with MW2 out next month ( i no there 2 different games) wish there was a demo now for it
 
love the way it states at the beginning of that review 'PS3' and 'Xbox 360'...... ummm PC as well? wtf.

Will be getting on PC - imo that platform is better suited to this sort of game.
 
Bugger, just rang the online etailer I used... won't be here till the middle of next week! I think I am going to cancel my order tbh and pick it up tomorrow in town. :(

So much for preordering, best not to use them again?

I preodered GTA from a site that used to get my stuff to me a day early, I then once had it a day late and never preorder from them again. The whole point in preordering means you should get it on day of release at the very latest!

Shame that, you did order pretty early yesterday so im quite surprised you didnt get your copy shipped already.

Hopefully my mates copy arrives today so i can get some co-op on! Still feeling a bit disappointed by the MP side of things though.
 
Ya, tell me about it guys, the sweet (and rather cheerful) yank girl on the phone said it was in the process of 'invoice printing'. Said it could be dispatched today...

She has sent an email through for me to return the game once it arrives for a full refund if I do decide to buy it tomorrow.

Which I might do as it's cheaper and also I get reward points :)

Apparently the big green supermarket is doing this for £27 (PS3 & 360) from midnight tonight.
