Hey guys, hate to make another thread but it is techincally another topic so here it is.

I am building a Dual loop in the Thermal take Super tower 900 and have had some thoughts on what I should do in regards to my resevoirs /pump combo's. I could go the standard Cylindrical shape Pumps on either side of the bottom drive cages. Or I have been thinking of using these:

Here is the case to show where the Res/pumps would go:

Now those rads supposedly come with mounting brackets, that I could adapt to mount vertically facing the front of the case/pumps facing mounting tray or it might work without much adaptation required. I'm going to have to make some modifications any way reading reviews on the casse seems to be easily made for Thermaltakes Res/pumps but not much else and I'm fine with that.

I also understand this type of case, or build is not for everyone. But I was hoping that someone with some experience either with the case, resevoirs and in general peoples opinion on whether it would look good or be a bit odd since those res plates would not be flush with anything sitting vertically, I may be able to fine away to have them flush against the glass, won't know until I get them I suppose.

Long story short, stick with conventional Res/pumps or go with something different?

Cheers for your thoughts :)

Whilst I'm most certainly not qualified to venture advice - I think the cylindrical reservoirs look really cool, compared to (yet) another rectangular thing in your case.

Thats a good point! I didnt think if it like that. The only issue I have is I already have an EK res/pump but its an older model and slightly smaller than the newer models... so I would still have to buy 2 pumps in order for them to match. Or I could just buy 1 new one and make changes to noth to make them look unique and fit a theme....

Or you could see if there's an older model EK pump/res selling used?

I could I suppose. But I'm not a big fan of buying used parts, I typically don't sell my old parts used either. I tend to keep them for other projects or give them to family members.

None of my family will want a water cooled system however so it might be a moot point in that regard.

I'll probably end up buying new though I know what I'm like and the newer pumps look slightly bigger than the 140 revo D5 I already have.

Sounds like you have a plan!
For the most part haha, I wish they had a big res place for this case like the Lian Li O11 lol but I know its not a popular case to build with due to its sheer size. I'm still not entirely convinced by it but it fits my needs for the price, just didnt want to soend £500, or more in thr csse of phanteks, on just a case...

Thank you for the input!

Yea it is, Ive helped a few builders who chose this case. I'd of picked it as well if it was able to hold a dual loop but it would have bee a real tight fit getting the distro plate, 2 or 3 rads and a re/pump or second distro plate with 2 rads.... but well I've already got the Super tower case now, sitting in my attic / build room.

I think thats why I thought about the the generic rectangle distro plates as replacements for cylinders, all rectangles might work but ive not seen it in a case like this so I'm not sure, only 1 way to find out I suppose lol.

I do know I don't want to different res/pump combos like keeling my existing one and buying a second, my mini OCD would need them to be thr same haha.

Haha, I don't see many of them and it is the size of a mini fridge! But you get a lot of case for around £250, next case up that can hold a dual loop without being too tight on space is like double that at £500 and is even bigger! Or ridiculous cost like the Phanteks Enthoo Elite @ £732!!!!!

Going to be using plasti dip and stencils to make some of the blocks my own or more Sgar wars themed xD but also emovable mods haha.

Wow - that sounds like it's going to be one hell of a build. Make sure to take pictures and add them to the build logs subforum!
Oh I plan to! I did a build log with my current build on there as well, blsck and red single Loop build with corsair Crystal 680X case but its limited in its water cooling ability such as having to use slimline radiators. Can go all out with this build, got the mrs blessing too!!! Haha. I'll make sure and start a new thread for the build but waiting on Zen3/RDNA2, might be using an RTX 3080 but gotta see what AMD has to offer first.
