Why can't you in all fairness? You'd have more choice, and you wouldn't have to pay your mate for the middle man work. Besides it's really not that difficult even if you've not done it before!

+1 for this. £8 is nothing really compared to the whole cost of a build. And you're getting arguably one of the best bang for buck cards available at the moment :).

Shame you don't live closer, I would build it myself for you for free. Can you print of the list of components Tamzy spcced and show it to your friend and ask him to get that and put it together?
 
ah, well, as i said, if you're paying any more than 810 quid for the parts (cuz you get free shipping), then you're getting ripped off by your friend. better to just buy the parts yourself and get some other friend to build it instead (and buy him a pint or 2)

hes going to look after it for 3 years after building it, thats why im gonna get him to build it for me
 
oh so basically you're buying a prebuilt with a 3 year warranty. just make sure the warranty is an onsite warranty. not the depot warranty. else its gonna be a right pain in the azz

yes its prebuilt, warrenty is this, 3 Year Warranty - 1st Year Onsite, 2nd & 3rd Year Return to Base (Parts & Labour)
 
Not gonna pretend to know mate i'm afraid, haven't had experience with either brand. Gonna leave it up to the more knowledgeable forumers than myself.
