Opinions on my cart - £2000 video editing PC

I think a air cooler will be a better idea as it will be quieter.

1 x SK Hynix 512GB SSD SH910A SATA 6Gbps Solid State Drive (HFS512G32MNB-2202A) £164.99
1 x Crucial MX100 512GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter CT512MX100SSD1) £162.95
1 x Noctua NH-U12S Ultra-Quiet Slim CPU Cooler with NF-F12 Fan £52.99
Total : £390.53 (includes shipping : £8.00).

The Noctua is a silent cooler, I've had a few in my time and they are stunning.

The SSDs are just cheaper alternatives, in fact the 850 Evo is not much more than than the 840 Evo.

The Antec P280 is a good quiet case and looks similar to the 550D,

I'm nearly ready to buy.. I've just been doing more research into GPUs (I'm sure everybody's done this with their first build but the more I look into things the more undecided I become!)
Basically I'm understanding that the key feature of GPUs when it comes to video editing is CUDA acceleration and to look at the number of CUDA cores of a card. I'm just wondering what effect SLI has on this count and if 2x GTX970s would be better than 1x GTX980 regarding CUDA?

And 2 PSUs to look extra badass :p haha.

Also, doesn't he have to enter a code at checkout to get the free delivery (with the SuperFlower PSU)? - Just to make him aware as he may not have read the thread about free shipping :)

I was drunk last night while playing BF4.

The superflower deal ends today, the GFX card gives the free delivery.

Nice ha, I'm still waiting for my desk to be built :( then I can get back to spanking people on CS hehe!

Yeah I'd choose between that and the G1 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-147-GI (G1 looks sexier in my opinion, but if aesthetics aren't required then it makes sense to get the Galax!) Both currently, somehow, cheaper than the MSI too

Thanks,

Yeah I've changed things around quite a bit now. Stretched the budget a little. I should mention it'll be shipping to Ireland so I don't know how that affects discounts.

Decided to get 16GB of faster RAM as it will be an affordable upgrade to 32GB in another few months and I don't think I'll ever need to go higher than that with this build.
Went with the GTX980 in the end, I figure I can upgrade the RAM later for cheaper than upgrading the GPU and the 5960x is out of my budget's reach anyway in terms of the CPU. The Gigabyte G1 was recommended by a friend but please correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm still deciding on a monitor. The hardware calibration on the Dell Ultrasharp U2713H is kind of making it stand out for me. I don't think any others in that price range have support for REC.709 and DCI.P3 colour space. But again I'm open to better suggestions here.
If I do get the Dell I'll probably drop the card reader as it has one integrated.

That Antec case will fit all the stuff inside very well, uo to if you want the Corsair option.

I cant say anything bad about the G1 Gaming card as its what I personally own and it is lush.

Before you mentioned: "In fact most of them seem to use a slower GFX card for the GUI and a fast one for the compute."

If I was to get another cheap GPU as well as the 980 what would be compatible/good enough?

I do not really know as I have never used the program.

I think you may want to ask on forums where people do use that program and can tell you what works for them.
