Bought this the other week and really enjoying it, though there's not a great deal to do in the game yet.
Really annoying save bug in private servers (it basically doesn't save so you lose everything when you quit), and on the public ones, I wasn't able to build anything as it kept complaining that I was too close to another person/colony.
It's got potential, but I think it needs a couple of months of dev work before it's got more than a few hours worth of things to do.

They're very similar imo - Osiris has better graphics, gameplay experience, Empyrion seems to have more to do and is a bit more minecraft-y.
