Hey guys,

I have an Opteron 144 (But the 940 pin socket version)
and to start off with have bought just 512mb ECC Registered Ram.....

Problem is.... I cant find a single socket motherboard that will take
this single opteron...

I can find a wealth of DUAL socket motherboards intended for the (246, 248 opterons etc) which are designed to work aside each other but cannot find myself a board which will suit my processor.

Please can you help :)
Will VERY VERY much appreciate it....
(p.s, I realise I will be looking at 2nd hand stuff most likely due to age of parts, but any info or help would be grand)

I think you'll have to ebay to find what you're looking for... Unfortunately plenty of listings have AM2 boards down as S940. :(
Some competitors have recent 940 boards but for the price you're paying, you could build a complete base unit that would demolish a 144.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Looks like I will have to continue hunting then on the 'bay.

Did think that I could have bought a faster machine than what I will create with this 144 for the money... Oh well :). Bought the sodding thing now... :S

Cheers :)
